Starting August 8 to August 29 @ 1 pm to 2:30 pm, I will be holding a four-week virtual (AND FREE!) writing workshop series called, "Ekphrastic Writing Workshop: Inspiration by Vermeer and Picasso". Ekphrastic writing is inspired by visual art in the form of an essay, poetry, or fiction. In this workshop, we will view and explore two world famous paintings, one by Vermeer, the other by Picasso, and use them as visual prompts to inspire our writing. The visual prompts for the next two workshops consists of contemporary works of art.
You can write about the scene or subject being depicted in the artwork. Write in the voice of a person or object shown in the work of art. Write about your experience of looking at the art. Or explore the deeper meanings behind the visuals in the paintings.
Ekphrastic writing is an enlightening and eye-opening experience! Most of all, it's FREE! I hope you'll join us.
You can register for the first session at: https://wcc-cec.org/workshop/wcc-public-virtual-12/2024-08-08/

OH HEY - YOU FOUND ME.
My name is Ellise Ramos and if you consult the internet, I am a forever-twenty-something young adult living in downtown Toronto, drowning in books, with an evil cat named Sharptooth, injecting coffee in her veins if she could.
But boy, have times changed.
Now I'm a thirty-something adult living in the suburbs, still living with an ancient evil, malevolent force in the form of a cat called Sharptooth, still drowning in books except this time around I have to make sure my bookshelves aren't falling apart so that my toddler can be safe.
Oh, and I'm still trying to inject coffee into my veins because the lord knows I don't have enough energy for the endless thoughts in my mind.
Enjoy dipping your toes in my world. May you find rest and love in my corner of the universe.
